USS Arizona is a battleship launched during the Great War. During her service, the ship underwent modernization. Arizona was present at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941. During the raid, catastrophic detonations took place on board the ship. The crew died and the ship sank, becoming a symbol of the Japanese attack. The wreck of the battleship was never recovered. The elements of the superstructure protruding above the surface of the water were removed, leaving only the barbette of the third main artillery turret. In 1962, the mausoleum of the USS Arizona was opened on the wreck.
