As a young man from Spain, England, France, the Netherlands or Courland, you have set yourself the goal of becoming an influential courtier, a liberator or simply - a pirate from the Caribbean. It is the 17th century, so practically everything belongs to the Spanish crown, inquisitors are listening closely, the black market is growing, and no journey is safe from the attacks of corsairs. Every year you sail between islands to transport, plunder, smuggle and ambush boats loaded with silver, pearls, jewels, and priceless relics intended to finance the next ambitions of the crown. It is up to you to decide to lead the fleet or plunder it?
Pax Hispanica is an asymmetric naval battle game for 1-5 players by Phil Eklund. The mechanics - like in other games in the Pax series - focus primarily on building your set of cards, manipulating the market, blind bidding and choosing one of 4 different career paths and paths to victory.
